Message from the President – We Are Growing Again!

January 5, 2018

Friends and colleagues,

We have great news to share. Threaded Fasteners is expanding again. For several months, our leadership team has been working with Bob Cornett, the founder and owner of Bolt & Nut Inc. in Tampa, Fla., to acquire his privately-held company.

Mr. Bob and his wife founded the business in 1977 and successfully ran the operation through the end of 2017. We felt honored that he selected Threaded Fasteners for this merger of two teams who value Christian principles, strong work ethics and excellent customer service.

On Jan. 5, 2018, the merger with Bolt & Nut Inc. was official. That means our staff already in Tampa will join forces with an additional 21 people on the manufacturing and sales teams there in a 50,000 square-foot space located near the University of South Florida and Bush Gardens. It’s a great new location for us and offers a wonderful opportunity to expand our reach in Florida and the Southeastern United States.

We look forward to sharing more good news with you during 2018.

Blessings,

Billy Duren

Threaded Fasteners Inc. Expands Again in Florida Market with Addition of Tampa-based Bolt & Nut Inc.

MOBILE, Ala. (January 5, 2018 – Threaded Fasteners Inc. (TFI), an employee owned business specializing in the manufacturing, custom packaging and distribution of steel fasteners, has acquired Bolt & Nut Inc., a Florida-based manufacturer and distributor of fasteners founded in 1977 in Tampa, FL.

Threaded Fasteners Inc. is joining forces with the Bolt & Nut sales and manufacturing teams to create an even more dynamic platform to serve commercial and industrial clients in Florida and the Southeastern U.S., said TFI president Billy Duren.

In 2013, Threaded Fasteners opened a location in Tampa on Currie Davis Drive. After Jan. 5, 2018, the TFI team will merge with the 21-member Bolt & Nut Inc. staff to do business at the Bolt & Nut location on 46th Street. The facility offers more than 45,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 5,000 square feet for sales offices.

Bolt & Nut Inc. Founder and Owner, Bob Cornett said a shared belief in Christian values paved the way for the acquisition of Bolt & Nut Inc. by Mobile, Ala.-based Threaded Fasteners.

While other businesses approached Cornett about selling his manufacturing firm over the years, the timing, he said, had never been right until now.

“From the first time I met Billy (Duren, TFI President) and David (Spurlock, TFI Senior Vice-President), we had a common bond and that was the Lord,” Cornett said in a December 2017 interview. “It was truth right off the bat. If it hadn’t been for the Lord, I don’t think this would have ever happened.” (Photo: Bob Cornett)

Duren said it is the goal for Threaded Fasteners Inc. to continue building on the solid foundation and principles Cornett spent four decades cultivating in Tampa and across the globe.

“Bob Cornett has such an incredible story of success you just can’t help but be intrigued,” Duren said. “I’ve discovered Mr. Bob’s word is as good as a 40-page legal contract. I have come to greatly admire him and in the past few months we have forged a genuine friendship.”

With nearly 53 years in the manufacturing business, Cornett believes now is a great time to invest in Florida. The Tampa Bay area is experiencing tremendous growth in the form of long-term construction projects and other initiatives.

“I see tremendous potential in this area,” Cornett said of southwest Florida. “I think there’s going to be a boom for at least the next five to eight years.”

Threaded Fasteners Charitable Foundation Gives $25,000 to Team Focus

donation check to team focusMOBILE, Ala. (December 15, 2017) – Team Focus received a check for $25,000 from the Threaded Fasteners Charitable Foundation this week that will help support boys who lack father figures in their lives.

The money was raised through a charity golf tournament Mobile-based Threaded Fasteners Inc. has sponsored for 11 years. While the Oct. 7 event planned at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Mobile was canceled because of severe weather, teams and businesses that pledged funds through the tournament maintained their commitments.

“It was extremely disappointing when the weather came in and we had to cancel the golf tournament.  Yet, what a testimony to see the commitment of our business partners never waiver in their support,” said Billy Duren, president of Threaded Fasteners Inc.  “I am so grateful for the platform we have to serve Team Focus.  Our company works on this tournament for months and truly embraces the vitally important mission of Team Focus.  We are honored so many people continue to help us support Team Focus. What Coach Mike and Mickey Gottfried do to positively influence boys and young men through Team Focus is desperately needed in our world.”Continue reading

Thanksgiving Message from Billy Duren

[widgetkit id=”24″]

November 22, 2017

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Besides enjoying turkey and pumpkin pie, it’s a day when everyone can stop for a moment and reflect on what they have to be grateful for. I was telling one of our young team members recently, I never want to lose the sense of awe I feel about what we do. Even today, with more than 37 years here at Threaded Fasteners, I continue to feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for those we work with and those we serve.

Our employee-owned company was blessed to be founded by two people who set great examples for all of us. Frank Martin and Steve Sholtis are men of integrity who believe in treating people fairly and sharing with others. They are givers. We were fortunate to be able to see our company receive blessings because of how Frank and Steve ran the business. Now, it’s our turn.

Today, through the Threaded Fasteners Charitable Foundation, we continue to support several charities close to our hearts. We also encourage our staff — and everyone else — to find ways to give back whenever they can. We do it because we have been blessed with resources and it’s the right thing to do.

As Thanksgiving approaches, we hope you find time for reflection and much to be thankful for.

Blessings,
Billy Duren
