Threaded Fasteners is Certified Employee Owned

Threaded Fasteners has become a member of Certified Employee-Owned (Certified EO), the leading certification program for employee-owned companies in America. To become a member of Certified EO, companies must pass a rigorous certification process to demonstrate that their employees
own at least 30% of the business (exclusive of company founders), access to ownership is open to every employee, and the concentration of ownership is
limited. Fewer than 1 in 200 American companies are eligible to join
 Certified EO.

Certified EO is an organization that strives to create an employee-owned economy. Their certification program is combining the reach of employee-owned companies to create national recognition for this new approach to business. Certified EO works directly with members to help them make their employee ownership more visible to their workers, their clients, and their communities. Certified EO was founded in 2017 by Thomas Dudley and Kramer Sharp. The current membership includes over 175 companies and more than 120,000 employee-owners. EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP ADVOCATE PROGRAM

The Threaded Fasteners ESOP Advocate program is a team of employee owners from each branch that will represent and promote employee ownership for their team. Advocates will travel to the home office for an all day training session that will give them the tools and information they need to be outstanding advocates for what it means to be employee owners. Part of their duties will be to provide tools and information to their local team on what employee ownership means to every level of owner. This new program is an exciting new way to grow our teams ownership participation!

THREADED FASTENERS OWNERSHIP

On April 1, 2007,  employee owners of Threaded Fasteners Inc. purchased the shares of the majority shareholder Frank Martin. In 2012, the purchase was complete when the second owner, Steve Sholtis, sold his stock making TFI 100% Employee Owned.

The Threaded Fasteners Employee Stock Ownership Plan is a trust established for the exclusive benefit of the employees. Shares of stock are owned by the trust, and the trustees manage the trust. Each vested employee is a beneficial shareholder of the trust. The TFI ESOP is set up primarily as a retirement plan.

Threaded Fasteners Inc. Expands Again in Florida Market with Addition of Tampa-based Bolt & Nut Inc.

MOBILE, Ala. (January 5, 2018 – Threaded Fasteners Inc. (TFI), an employee owned business specializing in the manufacturing, custom packaging and distribution of steel fasteners, has acquired Bolt & Nut Inc., a Florida-based manufacturer and distributor of fasteners founded in 1977 in Tampa, FL.

Threaded Fasteners Inc. is joining forces with the Bolt & Nut sales and manufacturing teams to create an even more dynamic platform to serve commercial and industrial clients in Florida and the Southeastern U.S., said TFI president Billy Duren.

In 2013, Threaded Fasteners opened a location in Tampa on Currie Davis Drive. After Jan. 5, 2018, the TFI team will merge with the 21-member Bolt & Nut Inc. staff to do business at the Bolt & Nut location on 46th Street. The facility offers more than 45,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 5,000 square feet for sales offices.

Bolt & Nut Inc. Founder and Owner, Bob Cornett said a shared belief in Christian values paved the way for the acquisition of Bolt & Nut Inc. by Mobile, Ala.-based Threaded Fasteners.

While other businesses approached Cornett about selling his manufacturing firm over the years, the timing, he said, had never been right until now.

“From the first time I met Billy (Duren, TFI President) and David (Spurlock, TFI Senior Vice-President), we had a common bond and that was the Lord,” Cornett said in a December 2017 interview. “It was truth right off the bat. If it hadn’t been for the Lord, I don’t think this would have ever happened.” (Photo: Bob Cornett)

Duren said it is the goal for Threaded Fasteners Inc. to continue building on the solid foundation and principles Cornett spent four decades cultivating in Tampa and across the globe.

“Bob Cornett has such an incredible story of success you just can’t help but be intrigued,” Duren said. “I’ve discovered Mr. Bob’s word is as good as a 40-page legal contract. I have come to greatly admire him and in the past few months we have forged a genuine friendship.”

With nearly 53 years in the manufacturing business, Cornett believes now is a great time to invest in Florida. The Tampa Bay area is experiencing tremendous growth in the form of long-term construction projects and other initiatives.

“I see tremendous potential in this area,” Cornett said of southwest Florida. “I think there’s going to be a boom for at least the next five to eight years.”

donation check to team focusMOBILE, Ala. (December 15, 2017) – Team Focus received a check for $25,000 from the Threaded Fasteners Charitable Foundation this week that will help support boys who lack father figures in their lives.
